Course Description

Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 92W10

Water Treatment Specialist Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course consist of 10 weeks and four (4) days of extensive training on the principles and procedures to be followed in the areas of water source identification, water characteristics, water testing, water treatment processes and all Water Purification and Distribution Equipment. We train the future Water Training Specialists, commonly known as Water DAWGS, on all water systems currently in the Army's inventory. Within this curriculum, we have introduced immersive virtual training tools to change the classroom experience to a more collaborative, interactive and problem-solving environment, meeting the needs of the 21st Century Soldier.

Students receive classroom and computer-based instruction to ensure they understand theory of operations by operating water tactical equipment in a virtual environment prior to setting the tactical systems into operation. The course presents realistic and challenging training through several problem-solving events, such a water missions, in which students get the opportunity to purify water from several types of water sources (River, Creek, and pond) and the Quartermaster Field Training Exercise (QMFTX) as a culminating training event. The QMFTX is a multiple-day, scenario-driven exercise, designed to provide the Soldiers an opportunity to apply the technical skills learned throughout the Water Treatment Specialist Course in a tactical environment, to simulate sustainment support to a unit as well as perform as a member of a team during tactical and technical operations in the operational environment.

It is our mission to ensure you are fully trained and completely capable of performing your MOS in support of your assigned unit upon arrival. We take our mission to provide you with quality training very seriously and will ensure you are provided this training in a safe, realistic and professional manner.
