JMAC PHASE I – Mortuary Affairs Specialist

Prerequisites:

Private – Master Sergeant without the Mortuary Affairs Specialist MOS
Must be a volunteer, Must be eligible for a secret clearance
Minimum GT score of 90
Course is primarily intended for entry-level students.
Marines must enroll in the sequential corresponding USMC- Phase 2 Mortuary Affairs Specialist Course.

Course Length: 21 Training Days

Course Description:

This course is a joint service school. This course provides an introduction to Mortuary Affairs program element and activities; military map reading and land navigational procedures; search, recovery and evacuation operations; procedures to establish and operate a Mortuary Affairs Collection Point(MACP) Upon graduation from this course, the student will continue on to the USMC Phase 2 – Mortuary Affairs Specialist Course.

USMC PHASE 2 – Mortuary Affairs Specialist

Prerequisites:

Private – Master Sergeant without the Mortuary Affairs Specialist MOS
Must be a volunteer, Must be eligible for a secret clearance

Marines must enroll and complete the corresponding JMAC Phase 1- Mortuary Affairs Specialist Course in tandem with USMC Phase 2 – Mortuary Affairs Specialist in order to obtain the 0471/0472 MOS designator.

Course Length: 7 Training Days

Course Description:

This is a Marine Specific Course. This course provides an introduction overview to Mortuary Affairs Decontamination (MADCP) operations, Theatre Mortuary Evacuation Point (TMEP) Operations, Personal Effects Depot (PE DEPOT) Operations, Interring and Disinterring remains, and Morgue and Identification Operations. Upon graduation from this course, the student will earn the 0471 /0472 MOS designator.
