Headquarters & Headquarters Company (HHC)

HHC 23RD BDE MISSION

HHC, 23rd Quartermaster Brigade provides administrative support, care, and welfare to Brigade and Quartermaster School staff and their Families, and supports the Quartermaster Field Training Exercise in order to facilitate the broadening of sustainment professionals and enable Multi-Domain Battle and Large Scale Combat Operations with Soldiers that are Ready on Day 1.

HHC 23RD BDE VISION

A steadfast team of professionals who provide command and control, training, administrative, discipline, morale and welfare support to the Soldiers within the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 23d Quartermaster Brigade footprint while managing the reception, in-processing and onward integration of all Advanced Individual Training and Military Occupational Specialty-Transfer Warriors into their training companies.

HISTORY OF THE HHC 23rd BDE

Constituted 1 May 1936 in the Regular Army as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 23d Quartermaster Regiment (Truck-Corps) and allotted to the Third Corps area.

Redesignated 8 January 1940 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 23d Quartermaster Regiment (Truck).

Redesignated 1 April 1942 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 23d Quartermaster Truck Regiment. Activated 15 August 1942 at Camp Barkeley, Texas.

Reorganized and redesignated 23 October 1943 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 23d Quartermaster Group.

Inactivated 30 November 1946 at Schofield Barracks, Territory of Hawaii. Activated 27 May 1947 on Guam; inactivated 20 February 1948 on Guam. Redesignated Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 23d Quartermaster Group and activated in Korea, 19 December 1950.

Reorganized and redesignated 1 April 1954 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 23d Quartermaster Group. Inactivated 13 May 1955 in Korea. Redesignated Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 23d Quartermaster Brigade, assigned to TRADOC and reorganized under the US Army Regimental System, 12 February 1987; concurrently Headquarters activated at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.
